Boredom is a terrible thing

It’s an interesting thing, boredom. To be bored you must feel weary. To feel weary you must be tired. Now this is an issue. If you are bored, you are tired. But when we are bored we look to do something. This just seems counter-intuitive to me. Should we not decide to rest when we are bored? Perhaps the word bored is being used because it’s simpler than saying “I can’t think of anything to do.” I, however, am bored. But I’m at work, so resting is not an option. So I have done what I can to remain awake. Which is to ramble. I’m tired. I am currently inactive. Therefore, I am bored. Well, this has been an interesting post. Now, go eat some cookies.

  1. Julie Perry says:

When you were a child you never complained of being bored. Do you know why? Because if you did, your mother gave you chores to do. Hard work is the cure for boredom. So go do some work. p.s. If you can’t think of anything, ask me. I can think of plenty of things you could do.

  2. Yes, I was bored. I was also at work. With no customers. With no computers to fix.
