So apparently now it is offensive to refer to anything as master/slave. Anyone who as worked on computers should know that IDE drives of all kinds can have 2 drives in one channel, one designated “master” and one designated “slave.” This is apparently improper. We must refer to them as primary and secondary. Why does it matter, really? We’re not referring to people.

It is, apparently, also improper to refer to the socket end of a cable as “female” and the plug end as “male.” These have been used for years and should not be offensive to anyone.

You would think that it would all be okay, but apparently not.
