Racism

I got set off about this at work. Apparently there are some arguments about what INANIMATE objects are or are not racist. I believe that there is no way an inanimate object can be racist. Racism is a belief. In order to have a belief you must be capable of thought. If something like a sandwich could think we would not be able to eat it, it would just keep running away. What would want to be eaten? Perhaps they meant, in the article bellow, to say that a pb&j sandwich could cause racist thoughts? But that’s just absurd, I have never once looked at a sandwich and thought “Wow, what an excellent example of white supremacy, I’m going to eat one every day to prove I’m better than everyone else!” What does it matter the bread your sandwich is on? What’s next, calling ziti racist because they don’t have ziti in China? Maybe whiteboards are racist because they don’t have them in “third-world” countries? Quit trying to blame racism on objects and place the blame where it belongs, on the people. Again, racism is a thought, so if you’re going to tell me something I appreciated in my childhood is racist it had better be a person or a pet.
